This Wheelchair Bound 17-Year Old Genius May Become India's Next Stephen Hawking

Disability or special ability?

Let's begin with Stephen Hawking. The renowned scientist has been suffering from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) where the joints in his body don't respond to the messages send by the brain.

As a result, the muscles become dysfunctional and the body is unable to respond. Also known as Neuron Motor Disease, this condition slowly paralyses one's body.

But, this disease doesn't touch the brain. The brain functions normally, but, in the case of Stephen Hawking it's working extraordinarily, making him one of the greatest scientists of our era.

And his followers are everywhere, including our own Tuhin Dey, who is affected by Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita (AMC), a disorder that develops during a woman’s pregnancy and reduces the mobility of joints of the baby’s hands and legs. Ninety percent of his body doesn't function. Yet, he has won numerous awards for his towering achievements.

Read on to know the complete story of Tuhin Dey who hails from Midnapore district of West Bengal.
