After rising to fame in 1977 and winning the role of Princess Leia in the George Lucas hit movie Star Wars, Carrie Fisher is pretty much a household name. Starring in movies galore with mega stars such as Ringo Starr, Warren Beatty, Elizabeth Taylor, Joan Collins and Laurence Olivier. Her illustrious career spanned five decades.

As well as her acting credits, Fisher also wrote several semi-autobiographical novels, including ‘Postcards from the Edge’; a one-woman play based on her experiences with and drug addiction, and 'Wishful Drinking'; based on the play. She was renowned for her work on other writers' screenplays as a script doctor, often re-working weak scripts to completely transform them.
