"I bet he likes you."
A mother was left outraged when she heard a hospital worker saying so to her baby girl for the guy who badly hit her. 4-year-old Joni was punched at school by a boy that she needed stitches. As she was taken to the hospital, a worker said that happened while flirting. Her mother Merritt Smith (Ohio, Columbus) shuts the man airing her opinion on Facebook.
Merritt was left shocked by his statement. She posted a note on Facebook. That reads: 'I bet he likes you.' 'Dear man at the registration desk at Nationwide Children's hospital, l'm positive that you didn't think that statement through. 'As soon as I heard it I knew that is where it begins. That statement is where the idea that hurting is flirting begins to set a tone for what is acceptable behavior. My four year old knows "That's not how we show we like someone. That was not a good choice."
