But, this amazing game has also faced way too many controversies in the recent past. Certain incidents resulted in the defaming of many popular cricketers which proved as a major blow to their otherwise awesome careers.

This happened during the India-Australia test series in 2007. Due to some misunderstandings, Andrew Symonds blamed Harbhajan Singh for racially abusing him. The umpire even slapped Singh for the same. But, later it was found that Singh had just used some expletive Hindi word but no racial abuse was involved. So, Symonds avoided the media for quite some time.

The incident happened during the match between Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab.

Muhammed Asif faced one-year jail term and team captain Salman Butt faced 2 and a half years jail term because of the same case.
