L ife offers no certainties. You never know what will happen the next moment. Whatever it is, it is better to look for the reasons to gallop the hardships. Leading a meaningful and inspirational life is a real value to humanity. The life story of Indian woman 29-year-old Sonali Mukherjee left me with a variety of deep thoughts. Her sufferings and the turning point she chose in her life cultivate the courage in every single person' s heart. 13 years ago, three men drenched her with acid that left her blind and disfigured. That was the revenge that she rejected their demands. She struggled a lot with her darken life and even attempted to kill herself. Via
As a 17-year-old college student, Sonali was looking forward to her bright future. In a regular day, while she was sleeping, three men entered her house, poured a jug of acid and ran away.
She was almost blind and deaf. Doctors told her case as one of the worst they ever saw. Several medical procedures have healed her injuries up to some extent. And she is pursuing further. In past 13 years, she underwent 28 medical procedures.
Sonali tied her knot in April with Chittaranjan Tiwari. She is truly happy and positive for her life now.
The attackers are already escaped after a few years' prison. Sonali told: 'We want such criminals to get punished, they are roaming free, and we are serving the sentence.'
She recalls her terrible days likes this: 'Even today when I think of the incident my heart is full of pain and anger. It felt as if someone had thrown me on fire I was being burnt alive.'
But everything changed. Recalling those guys, she told: 'For a few days the situation was under control, the harassment stopped but I didn't know they were secretly planning their revenge, they wanted to destroy me.'
Her journey to positivity and courage is worthy than any degree.
She said: 'For the last nine years, I am suffering ... living without hope, without future. If I don't have justice or my health, my only way out is to die. I don't want to live half a life, with half a face.' But now, after finding her life partner, she is loving to live.
After appearing in the show, she met Chittaranjan. He took a first step towards their togetherness after seeing her in television.
Each year, large number of women are reported as such victims. Sonali is now thinking to campaign for the welfare of such victims around the world. Sonali, we wish you all the best for your life ahead.
