Two twins, Carl and Clarence were born conjoined at head in philippines 2002. It was very difficult for their mother, Arlene Aguirre to cope up. Doctors told her that she has to choose one out of two and one would die. She didn't gave up and she believed that she will save both of the boys. Both of Kids were successfully separated at Montefire Medical center at Bronx, New York on 4th August 2004. They are celebrating 10th anniversary of the day when they were operated. Boys were seperated after four surgeries over 9 months. Since then, Arlene and her kids are living a Scarsdale, New York. To know more about them, go through the photos below. Carl and Clarence were brought to New York after local doctors at Philippines told that only one can survive.
Kids were successfully seperated at Montefire medical academy, Bronx, New York. Both of these kids shared the bridge of brain, 5-6 centimeters that had to be divided. When you get beyond 1-2 centimeters one or the other boy will get a hit.
Clarence acts like a elder brother and plays on ipad and tell stories to Carl. Carl had seizure then he over came it but he uses wheel chair and braces in leg
Carl goes to school for specially-abled and learn occupational, physical and speech therapy. He can utter two words at a time like thank you and sorry.
Clarence acts as an elder brother. May be their surgey wasn't perfect but even surviving the operation is a reason enough to celebrate.
