Recently UK based photographer Kirsty Mackay had her daughter Ruby, started noticing how baby girls are bounded by the pink image. Each and every clothing, toys and accessories that are produced for baby girls are mostly pink. According to her, the 1970's was a much gender-neutral time.
She says that pink is everywhere, and it is so hard to find an alternative for girls. The reason being that the pink color is marketed effortlessly in the market for years now. That wasn't the case when she was growing up. Why is it so that the color has become a gender bias? Pink for the girls and blue for the boys. So that's the reason she created this series, to throw some light on the current situation.
