They say if you love someone, your love reaches out to them no matter what. Time proves this over and over again with little things that cause much stir within us. And it has, yet again. Here is the amazing story of a message in a bottle, found after 45 years.
The screw-top Dr Pepper bottle that Nolan discovered had a letter inside it and Nolan mistook it for a message from the pirates.
Garrick, Nolan's mother and her husband could only read a few words out of the yellowish letter that said, "I wish I could see you... I love you so much... I love you, Diane'. Although they couldn't find whom the letter was addressed to, they saw that it read 'M'. The signature of the letter however, was immediately recognized by Garrick as that of her friend Diane Bryant.
Turns out that in 1970, a 13-year-old Bryant had a boyfriend back then named Mike Rogers. Now Mike, it turns out, is the grandfather of the boy who found the letter in the first place!
On one fine occasion when Bryant was on a trip and Rogers wasn't allowed to come for some reasons, she wrote a note and put it in a bottle and threw it in the lake, hoping that Rogers would find it later that summer.
Diane (left) who had written the letter to Rogers (right) says, 'With my whole heart, I just knew one day he would find it. I've thought about it through the years, thinking, "I wonder if anyone ever found that bottle?"
