People in many different countries have been celebrating festivals and please the God by doing brutal, inhumane acts. In China, people enjoy themselves at Yulin Festival by slaughtering dogs while Japanese slaughter dolphins. But, not many are aware of the Deopokhari festival celebrated in the village of Nepal.
The people in the village of Khokana have been following a tradition of ripping apart baby goats by their teeth and bare hands until they die. Villagers celebrate the festival in the month of August near the sacred Deo pond. The brutal practice has been a part of their tradition for more than 900 years now. Desipte all the protests by Animals rights campaigners across the world, they celebrate this festival on a large scale, even today.
