Life is all about choices, and the story of brave Giorgia Lanuzza encourages you to listen to your heart and make right decisions.
24-year-old Giorgia from Great Britain has psoriasis complications, a frightful skin disease. She was diagnosed with it when she was 13, and now 97% of her body is covered by red patches. Almost a decade, she witnessed people taunting her by calling her 'freaky', 'scary' etc. She felt pretty bad for herself and got embarrassed hiding herself from people. She felt ugly when she looked in the mirror and suffered each day.
Finally, after almost ten years of suffering, Giorgia has started loving herself and has chosen to encourage all those who are suffering from psoriasis. Now she feels beautiful and proudly exposes her red welts. Her positive mindset towards self is truly an inspiration to all.
Talking to the media, she said - "I was just a teenager, and all I wanted was to be like other girls my age... Instead, giant patches of my skin were red and unsightly - I felt like a freak compared to other girls my age and did everything to cover up."
She describes the change in her like this - I felt so self-conscious about the condition that it was ruining my life. Stressing about my flare-ups only made them worse - so now I look at my skin with a positive mindset. Finally, I've come to terms with my skin and have realised that I am beautiful.
Gradually, it went on increasing and covered whole body including face.
