Just a second of unawareness left Molly Huddle (30) with a huge disappointment for the rest of her life.
American distance runner Molly had participated in women's 10,000 meters race at the World Athletics Championships in Beijing. As she was about to meet the finish line, she raised both her arms in celebration. At the very moment, another runner Emily Infeld completed the stride, and the Bronze medal went to her instead of Molly.
'In that last half step, I just let up too much,' Molly said sadly. She told - Emily was right there the whole time with just more momentum. She got that bronze. It's going to take a long time to get over. I just didn't want to mess up on the last lap and I did. I don't know when that chance will come again.'
