How would you feel when a person, who is in a relationship, tells you not to do gross things in a relationship, and then you find out that he does that all himself/herself? Isn't it simply infuriating when a hypocritical person comes up and tells you what to do and what not to? It appears to me as a bit of a paradox as to how a person can be against what he (deep down) accepts!
A lot has been said against the LGBT Pride movement, and there have been many anti-gay and lesbian activists who left no stone unturned to convince people that gay-marriage is wrong and it should be banned. But the irony is, many of the 'anti-gay activists' were actually homosexuals!
To know who they were, check out these fifteen anti-gay activists who were caught being gay themselves!
This North Dakota legislator, who had himself voted against North Dakota Senate Bill 2279, an anti-discrimination bill, was caught sending explicit photos on Grindr, a gay dating and hookup app. He had also sent an unsolicited photo of his junk to 21-year-old Dustin Smith, and that too in the same month! At first he did not give in to the accusations. But eventually, he did accept him being gay.
Steve Wiles, a North Carolina Republican Senate candidate, had based his campaigning heavily on his anti-gay beliefs and his support of the state's same-sex marriage ban. But then, there was a turn in the series of events as news broke out that just over a decade ago, he worked as an openly gay drag queen and drag-show emcee at Club Odyssey, a gay-friendly Winston-Salem lounge. Wiles also directed the show, and in the prior years was a frequent attendee and performed under the stage name "Miss Mona Sinclair." The list went on more, and Steve's hypocrisy was up for discussion!
George Rekers was responsible for starting one of the most powerful anti-gay lobbying groups in the U.S. during the 80's. He had also written and published papers such as 'Growing Up Straight: What Families Should Know About Homosexuality'. But in an unexpected turn of events, he was caught booking a male escort from an online source, and his gay side was thus exposed.
Georgia Pastor Eddie Long is a Baptist and famed televangelist in his area. In 2004, he led a march to Dr. Martin Luther King's grave in the name of defining marriage as between a man and a woman. He has also been quoted saying that his church can "deliver" people from homosexuality. But despite his actions, his true sexual orientation was revealed when four young men filed lawsuits against Long for using his fame and influence as pastor of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church to coerce them into sexual relationships. They ended up settling out of court.
Known for his vocal opposition to gay rights and for his attempt to outlaw sex toys, Troy King became the center of some seriously controversial rumors. Reportedly, he was caught by his wife having sex with another man from Troy University (Hell of a coincidence with the name)! However, no stories that had floated came on record.
Richard Curtis had voted against domestic partnerships for gays and opposed a bill prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation. But his real colors began to flourish when his sexual encounter with a male escort was made public. The reputed male prostitute, Cody Castagna, with whom he was cavorting, told police that Curtis offered him $1,000 to have sex with him and that Curtis purchased two gay pornographic films from the hotel for them to watch in his room. And adding to that, Castagna also had pictures proving it!
Pastor Ted, as he is popularly known, Ted Haggard was outed by prostitute and professional masseur, Mike Jones, in November 2006, for paying him to engage in sex with him for three years. But in his own defense, he simply said he's not a homosexual, he's just a "heterosexual with issues."
Glenn Murphy Jr., former head of the Young Republicans and one of the (former) leading Republicans of Indiana, always advocated "straight" family values and straight forward sexual orientation views. But everything changed when he was caught performing fellatio on another young Republican as he sleeping, without his consent! He was later jailed in 2008 and as of March of 2010, has been forced to register as a sex offender.
David Dreier has been accused of having sex with members of his staff and even paying his alleged boyfriend a high salary. There have been several cases where he has been accused of being gay, and so it contradicts all his political actions in the field which included voting against gay marriage rights, gay legal rights, and gay adoption rights and was part of an organization called "Californians for Bush" in 2004.
Former Republican Chairman Bruce Barclay openly advocated his views about gayism as being a 'sin of nature'. But in 2007, rape allegations came out against Barclay. When investigators went peaking around his house after a search warrant was issued, they found hundreds of sex tapes he had secretly created while having sex with a hired male prostitute. But there's a twist! It was found that this guy was a mega porn star! He got sentenced to nine months under house arrested, along with four years probation and an $18,000 fine.
