Touching your baby for the first time, holding it in your hands, watching him/her open eyes, and the moment he/she clutches your hand with those tiny fingers.....ask a mother, this is undoubtedly the best feeling of all!
A mother's love knows no bounds. It is the strongest proof that the concept of 'love at first sight' exists. Motherhood changes a woman's entire being. It recreates their existence and path of life for ever. It's a feeling so intense, that it has the capability of sparking a miracle. Yes, miracles do happen.
A miracle happened to Sharista Giles too. You can follow her here on Facebook.
The most heart breaking thing is that she was only 5 months pregnant when this tragic incident happened.
The baby was delivered prematurely and placed in the Neonatal intensive care unit at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
Sharista Giles underwent a C-section while in coma.
He was less than two pounds when born and named Baby L with the hope that his mother would wake up someday and name him.
The infant turned out to be a fighter. He survived, grew stronger and soon was able to leave the intensive care unit to meet his mom.
This was when the miracle happened. Sharista's aunt Beverly wrote on Facebook, 'She opened her eyes and blinked and squeezed our fingers when we asked her to, she was following her Dad's voice and then she saw her baby. She is not communicating still, but this is a good start. God is great. Keep praying.'
