Paralyzed Woman Poses In Lingerie To Prove Disability Does Not Limit Sexuality

"There is no shame in talking about sexuality because at the end of the day it is an important part of who we all are as individuals."

Rachelle Friedman Chapman was paralyzed in May 2010, from the chest down after she was injured in an accident the night of her bachelorette party. She married the man she was engaged to at the time of her accident and is a proud mother of her 2-month-old daughter Kaylee. Famous by the name "The Paralyzed Bride", Chapel stripped down for a photoshoot and launched her photos, wearing nothing else but lingerie.

Her pictures were launched this Monday and are for a social media campaign to prove to everybody else, that paralyzed people are sexy too. The public speaker and author had her beautiful photoshoot done at  Revolution Studios in Cary, North Carolina and made sure her wheelchair wasn’t a part of it. She agrees that being disabled means her life has changed, but it’s not over for sure.

You can follow her at her Facebook page and also her Website.

We wish you great luck, Rachelle!

Chapman told a leading English newspaper, "I think a lot of people have a hard time seeing through the wheelchair so here I am, this is me without the chair. But I'm actually the exact same person. I hope it will make people think. People with disabilities still have sexuality and honestly I'm tired of being something that we can't talk about as a society."

"I'm doing this for those who can't see past a wheelchair," Rachelle said. "I'm doing it to show that we are capable, sexual beings and we are not to be overlooked. I'm not glamorizing disability. My paralysis is an awful part of my life and I hope for a cure. But, in the meantime I need to love myself."

"When my story hit the media people were so impressed that my fiancé would stay with me 'like this'. Sure, it affected my self esteem but most of all it made me sad for my fellow wheelchair users who are still looking for love. We are smart, courageous, funny, beautiful and yes... sexy."

"The big thing that I am self-conscious about is the catheter I have to wear all the time. I have to accept it, and I wanted to show people that just because you have this, just own it. It doesn't have to be the focus of what you are, what you look like.", she saya

The couple started planning to have a baby and consulted their doctors. "I knew I was paralyzed and the first thing I asked the paramedics was whether I could have kids. I was ecstatic when they said yes." Rachelle's college friend, Laurel Hume agreed to surrogate for them.

"This was the first summer I put on a bikini since the accident," Chapman says, "and I want people to know you don't have to hide; you can still be sexy."
