Name, fame and wealth, celebrities are fortunate enough to have them all. So what more could they want? It's quite unbelievable to hear that celebrities stole stuff from marketplaces.
Unfortunately, popular divas like Britney Spears and Megan Fox were caught red-handed while ransacking that landed them in jail. There are several embarrassing incidents of famous stars who grabbed many headlines after reportedly stealing their favorite items from a public store.
In 2014, Amanda Bynes was accused of shoplifting a $200 hat from Barney's on Madison Avenue (New York City). She was caught on camera. In the footage, she was seen placing a hat on her head and left the store. Although she insisted she wasn't insane. Security decided to release her later.
In 2001, Winona was arrested for stealing more than $5,500 worth of Bulgari jewels and designer clothes from Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills, California. When police caught her, she gave a statement that her director suggested her to shoplift to prepare for her upcoming movie. In 2002, she was sentenced to three years' probation and $3,700 in fines. She remained on probation until December 2005.
Before being famous, Megan Fox was caught stealing a $7 tube of lip-gloss from a WalMart in Florida. After that, she was banned from the store. Initially, she denied it but when police revealed the surveillance video, she confessed.
In 2008, Britney Spears was caught red-handed at Fred Segal in Los Angeles. She entered the store in a leopard-print top and jeans but when she took an exit, she was wearing a black top. Sooner security noticed her stealing a 100 pounds long-sleeved vest. After getting caught, she told simply that she forgot to pay the bill.
In 2011, Lindsay was accused of plundering a $2,500 necklace from an LA jewelry store. Her loot was clearly caught on camera which showed her putting a necklace in her purse. After being arrested, she had a 120-day sentence for a necklace theft charge.
In 2008, Bai Ling stole two magazines and two packs of batteries at the Los Angeles Airport. When she was caught, she stated that the recent break up with boyfriend left her with a lack of judgement.
In 2010, Tila Tequila stole some bubble gums and chips from CVS store and security guards caught her red handed. Later, she posted on her blog that she lost her wallet and was too hungry and thought of stealing the stuff.
In 2006, Stephanie was arrested after shoplifting $1,300 worth of merchandise from a Neiman Marcus in Honolulu (Hawaii).
Farrah Fawcett was arrested for shoplifting dresses from high-end fashion boutiques in 1970.
