One fine day in the year 2013, Boris Kanev and Marta Samalea, a young couple from Bulgaria, decided to hitch-hike all the way from Bulgaria to India. And all the adventure without boarding a plane or using a smartphone. They packed their stuff, which included a DSLR camera, a netbook and an ebook to blog during their journey, all by road. The couple, accompanied by their pet cat Burma traveled across Asia and entered India via Myanmar in 511 days crossing 15 nations in total.
The pictures were taken from their blog and you must definitely follow them on Facebook.
They used an old map of Asia for their journey and filled it with pictures of real places, flavors and locals they met enroute. In her blog, Samalea writes, 'An old map of Asia, invisible routes and more imagination than certainty set the travel plan in motion.'
The youthful couple wanted to experience a real journey between places without using a GPS or smartphone. They took their kitten with them on the incredible hitch-hike, whom they call'The best companion ever'.
They enjoyed the local beverages and delicacies of every country they crossed and shared their experiences about the place.
According to the couple, meeting new people and having funny encounters is the best thing about hitch-hiking through Asia. They also met a Sadhu baba in India who spoke English.
Learning the local language en-route.
Marta Samalea wrote in her blog, "During our first days in every country we usually gather useful words and phrases, write them down and try communicating. The result is usually a lot of fun and misunderstanding, but people most of the time find it cute because it shows interest in their place."
