Kavitha Ravindran, Bengaluru-based fitness trainer posted sexually promiscuous messages screenshot on her Facebook timeline that were sent to her. Facebook flagged her down by removing the screenshot posted by her. She is disappointed by the Facebook's policy and by the loop holes in the law of our nation. She demanded a strict law and so do we too.
People all over the world are supporting her spirit and this brave woman's feminism movement. She says, men and women, all are equal and so should be the policies acting on them must apply.
Sexually promiscuous messages were sent by a desperate guy on March 9, 2015, and after few months Kavitha gathered her courage to take a screenshot of the sent texts and posted them on her Facebook timeline. Her original upload of the screenshot included that man's picture and name.
Next day when Kavitha checked her profile, she found that her screenshot was taken back by Facebook. Kavitha's post on Facebook dated July 12 is being appreciated by everyone in the world.
Kavitha felt unsafe since the day the harasser pinged sexually context messages to her on Facebook. According to her, these days people can do anything and there isn't any strict law in our nation. She is happy to take this step and bravely respond to the violence faced by her. We support her courage.
As per Facebook Community Standards, Kavitha have been issued a warning for posting lewd context on Facebook.
Kavitha reported that she has been in touch with many of the higher authorities, and she will file a complaint about sexual content harassment against the man soon.
Sharing private conversations and naming and shaming on our social platform violates the standards as per our bullying policies, Facebook said.
In just a three days time, the harasser deactivated his Facebook profile. Kavitha's Facebook inbox is full of supportive messages. She even thanked all the storytelling platforms to write about this.
