It's strange how life takes unexpected and cruel steps to make an innocent wish come true. A teen Rebecca Townsend from Danbury, Connecticut, USA died in a road accident after being hit by a car while she saved her friend Ben Arne pushing him out of the path of the oncoming car. She had three wishes in her bucket list; nobody knew the third one would be checked in this way.
On Thursday, 2nd July, Rebecca was hanging out with her friends, watching fireworks. On her way back, she and her friend Ben Arne, 17, were struck by a car. Ben survived, but unfortunately Rebecca died.
After Ben was discharged from the hospital, he visited the Townsend family and told them that Rebecca had saved his life by pushing him away from the car without giving a thought to her life. "He said, 'The last thing I remember is Rebecca pushing me and telling me to hurry up,'" Victoria Townsend said.
It was when Rebecca's sisters and cousins were sitting in her room, they discovered her bucket list. The Townsend family realized that Rebecca had fulfilled her wish by saving Ben's life. "It was a little sign that she was OK," they believe.
