Imagine yourself travelling with your family by your car and you pass by a bridge. All of a sudden you hear the scream of an old woman or a baby crying helplessly. And when you get out of the car to look for the person who is screaming a lot isn't visible to you. This is a sign that you can be the victim of a haunted situation and attacked by a ghost.
These haunted bridges are the places where ghosts reside. Murders, suicides, accidents, hangings over the bridges have scared the people's life. Paranormal activities occurring here are featuring more like a horror film. These abandoned bridges have a lot to tell about their horrifying and scary phantom tales which might frighten you and you would never like to pass through these bridges. Dog Suicide Bridge and Cry Baby Bridge are the most haunted bridges.
Well, from now my road trips are going to be much longer. No shortcuts to be taken and bravery to cross the bridge.
The Overtoun Bridge is famously known as The Dog Suicide Bridge. In 1950's or 1960's at least 50 dogs committed suicide from the same spot of the bridge. Later in 1994, a man jumped his baby from the bridge and committed suicide. Was this due to the tragic unresolved mystery of the bridge?
As you enter the park, you will see the engraving " Enter this wild wood and view the haunts of nature." Many visitors here have committed suicide by one or the other ways. In night times, you can hear the scream coming from woods. Moreover, it's a scary and suicide point.
Local people warn here that people who cross the bridge without headlights, you will be met on the other side by the Goatman bridge. Visitors being here are touched, grabbed and stones thrown at them is a usual ghostly feature of this place. Here, a simple rule is switch on your car's headlights or ghosts will welcome you.
Egypt Road Bridge is popularly known as The Cry Baby Bridge bcoz years before a baby fell into the river and was drowned. Later in 2010, women was brutally burned and her body was burned when found. Since then, baby cries and ghost of the women can be seen helplessly.
This bridge is haunted by the soldiers of the Civil War. Full body phantoms, spiritual voices, cold spots etc are the incidences that occur at this place.
This bridge is haunted from the time it was getting constructed. Around 27 workers were killed during the making of the bridge and it also became a common suicide spot with lots of people jumping from the bridge to their deaths.
It is said that years before a young boy was drowned near the bridge, and he is still living or dead but, active in that area. When you throw a coin at him, he will throw back at you at the same time or the next time when you visit the bridge. Sometimes he also gets angry. Beware of the angry young ghost.
While building this bridge, Dad Jones (constructor) fell into wet cement. People have heard screams for help and the sound of a hammer banging on the bridge. RIP Dan Jones!
On 19 October 1980, people found the severely mutilated body of a young woman. Her head, feet and hands were all missing. The body wasn't identified until 2008. People also said about the scratches found on their car when it was parked and ghosts banging on their car doors. Mostly these paranormal activities occur between 12 AM to 3:30 AM.
In the 1930's, three people went to the bridge but, never returned. A young couple and an old women also died here. People travelling here can see the lights shining from under the bridge and heard the sounds of old lady coughing and crying helplessly.
