We take pride in raising our sons as 'The man who doesn't cry' or 'The one who keeps controls of his wife's life in the way it should be'. We believe in making them tigers or lions who should be proud and a pro at 'hunting'. We raise them up with the teachings that it's okay to hurt a girl's feelings because she'd stop feeling bad or crying after a while, because she's, a girl. We feed boys an extra chapati than their twin sister. When they eve-tease girls in street, we shadow their deeds with the phrase 'They're boys. They make mistakes.' We're fine with men beating their wives and even raping them because they're the owners of their wives after all.
It's time we start raising our kids as normal human beings, and not hunting tigers. To change the norms of society, we'll have to change the perspective of our 'ideal' upbringing first.
