At a recent event in Delhi, Vietnam-based low-cost airline VietJet Air announced that it is soon going to start direct flight service between Ho Chi Minh City and New Delhi four days a week.
But why is this airline creating such a hype in the country?
Well, you might not know, but VietJet Air is not any casual airlines. Yes, this airline, founded by Nguyen Thanh Ha is popularly known as 'Bikini Airlines'. The airline is famous for its bikini-attired flight attendants, pilots and fun and excitement is quite visible in their marketing campaigns. Also, it has been in the headlines for 'onboard fashion shows' with the attendants walking in swimsuits and bikini.
This airline is soon launching its process in India and here's everything you need to know:
Launched in 2007 in Vietnam, VietJet Aviation Joint Stock Company aka VietJet Air got the name of 'Bikini Airlines' after its promotional campaigns of women dressed in a bikini.
The airlines make occasional headlines when its stewardesses serve the passengers wearing the bikini as a uniform.
It is impossible to imagine VietJet Air without thinking about bikini-clad models and stewardesses. Yes, because last year, the airline released its 2018 calendar which featured models dressed in a bikini with their signature colours, red and yellow.
There are no direct flights between the countries till now. Also, to mark the visit of Vietnam President Tran Dai Quang, this announcement was made at a recent event, India-Vietnam Business Forum, in New Delhi. The decision was witnessed by Vietnam President Tran Dai Quang and senior leaders of Vietnam and India, on the 45th anniversary of Vietnam – India diplomatic relationship and the 10th anniversary of a strategic partnership between Vietnam and India.
VietJet is currently covering destinations nationwide including more than 30 regional destinations in Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, China, Japan, Hong Kong and Myanmar.
Just for your understanding, a direct flight doesn't mean that it won't be non-stop. A direct flight can include stops at one or more airports. It's just the one doesn't have to change flights along the way.
We hope the airlines provide fast-expanding air traffic between the two cities, as expected by the forum.
That's all, folks. I hope you liked the story.
