While you are pregnant, you are always told by someone the things you should do and things you should not. You are always confused about what to believe and whom to believe. Always follow what doctors say, above anything. You should never believe in any myths that people talk about. Eating chocolate during pregnancy is really good and healthy for you and your baby.
So let's break some myths.
Well, it's tempting to predict the gender. Without medical technology, it is not possible. A new mom may be carrying high because a baby is large, not because of the boy or girl. The way a woman "carries" only determines the size and position of baby.
Avoid sleeping on your back, and sleep on your right side. For the healthy woman, any position is safe for your baby. Always choose the comfortable position to sleep in.
You can safely raise your arms above your head as often as you like. For a pregnant woman, you can raise your arms. It has said that your baby may get the umbilical cord wrapped around its neck. The activities of the mother have nothing to do with a wrapped umbilical cord and it's is a result of a baby's activity in the womb
It's a myth that you should not touch your cat while pregnant. Interactions with your cat, like petting, cuddling, and feeding, are perfectly safe. Pregnant women should not handle cat litter due to a parasite, it can cause serious infections in humans and deformities in developing fetuses. Keep on showering your cat otherwise just have someone else handle the litter box.
It's healthy to have sex when you are pregnant. You baby is protected in your uterus so having sex will not cause any problems.
It's good to avoid unnecessary radiation while you are pregnant. Computer and microwaves are not harmful to your baby. And yes, there is also no link between cell phone use and pregnancy problems.
It has not mentioned anywhere that bathing or swimming is harmful to your baby. The concern that a woman could contract an infection from the water is a myth. Jus remember, maintain reasonable water temperature.
A full moon and your labor date have no connection. Weather will not affect your labor date. Labor is complicated series of hormonal signals not because of weather or full moon.
If your are not having serious accidents than there is nothing wrong with car rides while you are pregnant. Car rides are totally safe for your baby. So stop worrying and enjoy your car ride.
Pregnancy is all about cravings. You can have whatever you like. It can be sweets, chocolate, ice cream or anything. It has been found that pregnant women who eat chocolate every day have babies who show less fear and smile and laugh more often at six months of age.
