"I loved her, admired her so much. My 1st ever acting shot was with Sri Devi, I was nervous in front of her n I remember her shaking her hands pretending 2b nervous cause of me just 2 boost my confidence. V had 2 laugh, n she kept laughing until I got it right. Will miss you mam."
These were actor Hrithik Roshan's heart-wrenching words on the demise of Bollywood actress Sridevi Kapoor. She ruled over the Indian film industry and our hearts for fifty years. Her untimely demise is indeed a very shocking news for the entire world. But, various news sources and media houses have numerous stories to tell about the last moments of her life in Dubai.
The actress was in Dubai for her nephew Mohit Marwah's wedding. Sridevi along with her husband Boney Kapoor and younger daughter Khushi Kapoor stayed in the Jumeirah Emirates Towers hotel in Ras al-Khaimah.
At the wedding, she was seen dancing to the tunes of Kala Chasma.
Khaleej Times reported that Boney Kapoor flew back to Mumbai after the wedding but Sridevi stayed there to meet her sister Srilatha. Boney decided to surprise his wife. He visited Dubai again and this time Sridevi wasn't aware of his visit. The couple chatted for 15 minutes before Boney asked his wife to get ready for a romantic dinner.
However, what was supposed to be one of the best days of their lives suddenly turned tragic.
It was reported that the actress went to the washroom to get ready and when she did not come out for long, Boney Kapoor had to open the door forcefully. That is when he is reported to have found his wife and the legendary actress lying motionless in the bathtub.
Boney tried to revive his wife and when he failed he called a friend for help. After that, the police were informed at 9 pm, reported Khaleej Times.
Be that as it may, Sridevi's death shocked everyone in India and people thought it was a hoax. It was only after Boney Kapoor's brother and actor Sanjay Kapoor confirmed in Mumbai that the actress suffered a massive cardiac arrest and has passed away that the news was confirmed.
Sanjay had to fly back to Dubai.
"We are completely shocked. She had no history of a heart attack," Sanjay was reported saying.
The police and paramedics rushed to the hotel but the actress was pronounced dead. Her body was then taken to the General Department of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy. The blood samples were taken for some tests before transporting the body to India for cremation.
According to a news portal, a WhatsApp message is doing rounds on the internet claiming that the pressure and need to look radiant and young all the time creates a lot of pressure on the Bollywood actresses.
The post instills the thought that Sridevi went through a lot of surgeries and that it might be one of the reasons for her untimely death as she did not have any history of a cardiac arrest.
While it has only been a day since her passing, new theories are being made around her death. Speculators claim that the "need to fit in", getting a lip job and a nose job and numerous other beauty treatments triggered Sridevi's cardiac arrest.
Ekta Kapoor reacted to people's speculations and theories around Sridevi's death. She took to Twitter and shared that such evil gossip mongers deserve none of our attention and it is all in the destiny because we as humans have no control over death.
According to a forensic report the cause of Sridevi's death is reported to have been an accidental drowning and not cardiac arrest.
For someone who spent 50 years out of the 54 years of her existence on the silver screen, my heart goes out to the family and friends of Sridevi.
Let us give her a final tribute and be there with the family in their tough times.
RIP, Bollywood's Chandni.
