Feminism is the most confused word in our dictionaries. People claim to be feminist, but little do they realise that feminism is not just about taking the women's side or making it a point that they have their say in the society. It is about having EQUAL RIGHTS, EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES AND EQUAL IMPORTANCE everywhere.
We do agree that women in our country have been subject to harassment, molestation and suppression, but the motive of people to demean the men on the grounds of taking vengeance of that very harassment, molestation and suppression is really not OKAY.
We surely have demons and devils in this world, but not all humans are demons.
Here are my validation and definitions of real feminism.
We started a series on feminism and tried to highlight this issue via three volumes.
Volume 1: Fake Feminism
Volume 2: Real Feminism
Volume 3: Why men should be feminists?
Here is the perfect definition of what 'Fake Feminism' is:
Usually, people who are inclined supporters of feminism tend to say that they hate men because they show a great sense of discrimination and difference towards men. But, tell me? Do you feel the same about your father? Do you think your father also have the same thoughts about women? It is not men; it is just the roles that they play in our lives.
I am a woman myself, and no, I don't want other women in the society to start hunting for me and be after my life. But, let's talk about logic here. There's a wide pay gap between the earnings of men and women. And if you really want your man to pay, you should also know about the perks that you are getting as a woman.
Every coin has two sides, and so does every situation. We always talk about women and their safety but what if a man's reputation is at stake? What if there's a serious threat to his dignity and honour? What if a man suffers just because he was doing the right thing but the society agreed to support a woman.
If a woman can ride and drive why can't a man cook? If a woman can be a soldier or a warrior, why can't a man serve people as a nurse?
Why can't we just let it be and not choose a side? We talk about making things normal yet the way we treat every situation, it shows how inclined and biased we are as humans.
Most men do things that they shouldn't be doing, but not all of them are the same. As the citizens of this nation and members of this society, it is crucial for us to know that not everything is because of a man and not every man is a RAPIST.
