One of the most renowned Bollywood actors, Irrfan is popular for his skilled acting in Hollywood ventures as well. Since 1988 Irrfan has been proving his dazzling talent in movies and no doubt he is one of the most sought after Bollywood stars now.

Irrfan was born in Jaipur, Rajasthan. His parents belonged to a small village, and his father ran a tyre business. Irrfan wanted to became a cricketer but became an actor by chance. In 1984, Irrfan was doing his MA when he gained a scholarship to study at National School of Drama in Delhi. In 1988, he was a final year student at NSD when Mira Nair (filmmaker) chose him for a role in Salaam Bombay.

When Khan moved to Mumbai to start his acting career, at the beginning, he acted in television serials like Chanakya, Chandrakanta, Bharat Ek Khoj, Sara Jahan Hamara, etc. His journey to Bollywood entrance was not effortless. After working in many serials, short films, and other movies, Khan came with a lead role in 'Rog' in 2005. That was the biggest milestone in his acting journey. 

Though many of his previous films went unnoticed, he didn't lose hope. He kept on giving his best. His tireless effort and dedication turned him into a veteran actor. His long struggling years taught him to be a kind and wise human being. Irrfan has no ego of his stardom. He believes in hard work and positivity. Irrfan married writer Sutapa Sikdar in 1995. Father of two sons, Irrfan is living happily with his complete family.

Jurassic World (4th installment in the Jurassic Park film series) has become the biggest Hollywood opener ever. It earned 208.8 million dollars in the opening weekend in America. It is a matter of pride for Bollywood that Irrfan is a part of it. He takes the overwhelming success of Jurassic World as a blessing.

He was internationally awarded for his roles in the movie Lunch Box, Slumdog Millionaire and The Namesake. And The Lunch Box is the only Indian movie to have ever won a Toronto Film Critics Association Award.
