30 Times Animal Camouflage Was Better Than That Of A Sniper

Necessity is the mother of invention, and in this case, the mother of evolution. The need here is survival. Many animals undergo evolution to hide themselves from their predators or to stay invisible to the animal they're planning to attack. It's the game of survival which keeps introducing humankind to the brilliance of nature. Like they say, if you want to survive, you should not stand out. Camouflage results from the process of evolution which occurs with every upcoming generation. It is the link between fitting in and surviving. Some animals blend in with the color and outer texture of tree barks like owls, lizards, etc. whereas snow leopards and seals hide near stones to give no chance to their dinner to run away or protest when attacked. The lilywhite coat of Willow Ptarmigan or Polar bears makes them almost invisible to their hunt.

The question which generally arises is, how is the camouflage of chameleons different from that of the other animals. The answer being the difference between physical property and result of evolution. Color changing ability of a chameleon has been in existence since many generations whereas camouflage in the animals listed below is a result of evolution, which comes eventually with generation change. These changes in the appearance of the animals majorly depend on the nature of behaviour and physiology of the animal, its surroundings and climatic conditions of that area and the nature of the predator and thus become the true Masters of Disguise.

Here we bring to you the 'Where's Waldo' game of our Animal kingdom. Let's see how many of these Waldos you can find!
