Bollywood is mysterious. Trust me when I say this. There are so many things that we tend to know about on an everyday basis and we think that it is enough. But, there are a lot of things that don't just get to make the headlines. For instance the fact that which celebrity is or was the first choice for a particular role or who was supposed to make a grand debut with which film?
Felling that you know very less about the showbiz? Well, I felt the same when I read about some stars and the real stories behind their first films. Come, let's take a look at those Bollywood debuts which never happened.
Shahid made his Bollywood debut with Ishq Vishk but he was offered the role of Sharman Joshi in the film Style which he reportedly refused.
Priyanka Chopra was supposed to make her Bollywood debut with the film Humraaz which was released in 2002, but things never worked out between the makers of the film and PeeCee. So, she made her debut with The Hero: Love Story of a Spy.
Director Shekhar Kapoor wanted to cast Preity for a film named Tara Rum Pum Pum. In fact, the actress also gave the audition for the film but it never went on the floors and the actress made her debut with the film Dil Se...
We saw Diana for the very first time alongside Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone in Homi Adajania's Cocktail. But little did we know that the actress was supposed to play Heer's character in the film Rockstar opposite none other than the Kapoor hunk Ranbir Kapoor but she couldn't sign the film due to other work commitments.
Tiger Shroff was reported to make his Bollywood debut with Hero's remake in 2010 but he wasn't convinced with the film and made his debut with Heropanti in the year 2012.
Aishwarya Rai was offered Karisma Kapoor's role in Raja Hindustani which she refused and then made her debut with 1999's film Aa Ab Laut Chalen opposite Akshay Khanna.
Ankita was offered a part in SRK's film Happy New Year but she turned it down and now she will be seen with Kangana Ranaut in her next release Manikarnika.
Saif's first film was Bekhudi but it was later dropped because of the actor's unprofessional attitude.
Shraddha Kapoor was offered the film Lucky: No Time for Love in a meeting in Boston but the actress turned it down because she wanted to focus on her studies and college. Later, she made her debut with the film Teen Patti.
Vinod Khanna wanted to cast Bipasha opposite his son Akshaye Khanna in the film Himalay Putra but Bipasha thought she was too young for the role and hence she made her debut with Ajnabee in 2001.
Shocked? Well, I was too. Kareena Kapoor was offered the 1999 hit film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam but she was still in college. The actress was also offered a role in Hrithik Roshan's debut film Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai but she declined that too and finally made her Bollywood debut with Refugee in 2000.
Lara Dutta made her Bollywood debut with the film Andaaz in 2003. But, she declined a role in Hollywood films The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions which released in the same year.
Much before his big debut with Karan Johar's film, Sidharth was offered the role of Manav, love interest of Priyanka Chopra in the film Fashion but things didn't work out and he finally made his debut with Student Of The Year.
Katrina was supposed to make her Bollywood debut opposite John Abraham in the film Saaya but Tara Sharma replaced her because the makers thought Katrina's acting was not up to the mark. Later, the actress made her debut with the film Boom which released in 2003.
That's all people.
