What's the best part of a college? For me, it's not the infrastructure, faculties, or international associations but college fests.
Do you also think in the same manner as I do, give a cheer then. Being a part of college fests has always been an experience full of excitement, learning, and entertainment. One more thing which relates to all that is – sports. IIM Indore's flagship fest Ranbhoomi will start from January 19. A fest which goes on for three days does not only focus on developing sportsman spirit in the participants but feed them with things much bigger than just the scores and wins of an event.
IIM Indore started with Ranbhoomi three years ago, back in 2015 and since then it has revolved around sports but is full of many other acts like celebrity associations and social causes. You're about to know it all. Ready, get, set, go!
This will be the fourth run of the sports festival and more than 800 participants from 45 colleges will be participating. Quite a big lot coming in, right? Well, here's what IIM holds for you this January.
More than the win, what matters in a sport is how well do you compete. This time, to honor the competitive spirit of the sportspersons you'll get to watch tough competition in games like Arm Wrestling, Power Lifting, Men's Physique, Badminton, Cricket, Table Tennis, Squash, Tennis, Volleyball, Basketball, Football, Chess, Snooker, and other niche events like Taekwondo, Strongman, and Mini Marathon.
Celebrated personalities like Gautam Gambhir, P T Usha, Milkha Singh, Narain Karthikeyan, Yogeshwar Dutt have associated with Ranbhoomi in the past. Mariyappan Thangavelu, Gold Medallist, Rio Paralympics 2016, had some kind words to say in a video message that he dedicated to the fest.
Ranbhoomi has also witnessed the presence of Fitness Icon and Bollywood star, Sahil Khan, in 2017.
In association with iHelp, IIM-IPM's (Integrated Programme in Management) unique campaign against mass illiteracy, Ranbhoomi aims to spread the message of goodwill this season. iHelp seeks to inspire the underprivileged children of Madhya Pradesh to follow their passion and pursue higher education to secure their future to a great extent. Events, drives, and campaigns have been organized as a part of Ranbhoomi to aid with the same.
Additionally, Ranbhoomi '18 is also associated with MARD Foundation, to promote the cause of gender equality.
