8-Year-Old Raped And Murdered In Pakistan, People Demand #JusticeForZainab

Pakistan Police is on a lookout for a murderer, who raped and killed an 8-year-old girl, leaving the entire nation in shock. 

Five days after little Zainab went missing, her body was on Tuesday recovered from a dumpster near her house. According to reports, she was kidnapped when her parents were in Mecca on pilgrimage, and her body was discovered by her neighbours.

Zainab's murder has sparked an outrage in Pakistan, with actors and cricketers demanding that the killer be caught.

News daily Daily Times recovered CCTV footage that shows Zainab with the kidnapper. Reports also suggest that a clear image has been obtained and they would catch the criminal soon.

Zainab was staying with her maternal uncle as her parents had gone to Mecca. She was abducted when she was going to her Quran class. When she didn't return home, family members registered an FIR. In the CCTV footage, the girl can be seen walking very comfortably with the mystery man, raising questions if she knew a man.

Parents Cry For Help

Zainab's father who returned home after hearing the news said that police used to come home, eat and leave and did not co-operate much.

Protests turn violent

This is twelfth incident reported from Kasur district in the last one year. The community has been furious with the way the authorities handled the situation. They took out a protest march which soon turned violent with the people throwing stones at the local police. Going by the reports two people died in this clash. However, protestors told Reuters that it was a very peaceful rally, some students threw stones and the police retaliated with firing.
