Kapil Mohan, the man behind the famous Indian dark rum 'Old Monk' passed away due to a cardiac arrest at his residence in Ghaziabad at the age of 88. Mr. Mohan, the chairman of Mohan Meakin Ltd., launched Old Monk in 1954, just 7 years post India's independence. Under his guidance, the company multiplied into 3 distilleries, 2 breweries and a number of new franchises in India.
Old Monk is not just any other alcohol that has been consumed us over the years, but it is more like an emotion for people who have consumed it over the years. It is so relevant in today's world that we see it being used in many other forms apart from "old monk and coke".

All you need to know here is how to make the sauce with Old Monk and the other ingredients are the same as normal chicken wings.
For the sauce, you require, 2 cups of coke, three fourth cup of Old Monk, one tsp of chilli sauce, one tbsp of honey, 3 or 4 tbsp of Worcestershire sauce, 4 or 5 crushed garlic, 2 tbsp of butter and 1 tsp of salt.
Once your chicken is cooked, coat it with the beautiful succulent dark sauce, et voila!
This recipe requires half a bottle of Old Monk to be poured over the mutton, and let it marinate overnight after rubbing it with salt, pepper, garlic and green chillies. Let it slow-cook after it has been marinated and once you see a golden-brown coloured mutton, remove it from the stove and serve.
This is a toast with a twist. The twist is obviously Old Monk. You require some bacon, chopped onion, cayenne pepper, fried thyme, 2-3 tbsp brown sugar, vinegar, salt and pepper, and let's not forget 3 shots of Old Monk. I am sure you will love it.

Heat milk,cream and rum in a saucepan, till it simmers. Add chocolate and let it melt. Whisk it until it is smooth and creamy and pour it into your mug.
Make this delicious cocktail at home with 90ml Old Monk, 60ml passion juice, 30ml orange juice, 30ml lime juice, 15ml cranberry juice and 15ml sugar syrup. Shake well with ice, strain and enjoy!
