Mrs. Sushma Swaraj, a lady who needs to get an appreciation for what she does. She has undoubtedly changed the workings of external affairs from the time she has taken her seat as the External Affairs Minister of India. We have always seen her taking a stand to prove her point and has never left anything unaddressed which has mattered to the nation.
She is known for getting involved with the citizens on an individual basis by making her team communicate through her Twitter account. As of now, she has gained around 11 million followers, and it's all because of her strong leading personality. Her speeches during the UN meets are also notable and hits the right spot for the opposition. She does make sure that she delivers her mind out to people opposing her and makes sure they know who the boss is.

Bhanupriya Haritwal of Rajasthan's Jalalpur village had secured herself with a scholarship of Rs.1 crore from the Rajasthan government for her higher studies in the US. She was facing some problems to get a visa for her future studies in the US, for which she had contacted Sushma Swaraj for the same. After intervening in the matter, Bhanupriya successfully got the US visa and could now see her bright future.
This speech took the internet by storm. She was seen making strong and clear statements with a 21 minutes speech in Hindi. Some of the statements that were seen as the ones which everyone had in their mind, yet she said it out loud were-
"We set up IITs, IIMs, AIIMS and ISRO. What did Pakistan make? They set up Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Haqqani Network, Hizb-ul-Mujahideen."
"If Pakistan had spent on its development what it has spent on developing terror, both Pakistan and the world would be safer and better-off today."
"We are completely engaged in fighting poverty; alas our neighbour Pakistan seems only engaged in fighting us."
The then Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif put forth his statements on his beloved topic of Kashmir. Sushma Swaraj blasted him with her strong statements. Here are some of them-
"The whole of Jammu and Kashmir belongs to India. You will never be able to make this heaven on earth a haven for terrorists."
"Pakistan has never exported good wishes to Kashmir but only weapons and terrorism."
"The statement of none other than Prime Minister of Pakistan has betrayed this despicable design. But I would like to repeat that this dream of Pakistan will never be fulfilled."
Sushma Swaraj gave a speech entirely in Sanskrit to over 600 Sanskrit experts. She wanted to propagate the sacred language. She expressed that Sanskrit purifies the minds of people and thus sanctifies the whole world. She also disclosed in this conference that a post of Joint Secretary for Sanskrit had been created in the Ministry of External Affairs.
The 12-YO boy, Sonu, who was kidnapped in Delhi and was found in a shelter home in Bangladesh. Once the external affairs minister was alerted regarding the situation, things moved swiftly from then. He was found and brought back home.
Sushma Swaraj granted medical visas to Pakistani nationals and showed them sympathy in the times where the two neighboring countries had sour relations. One of the recent ones being, granting a medical visa for an infant whose father reached out to her. The infant suffered heart condition that was not treatable in Pakistan.
Judith D'souza, an Indian aid worker was abducted in June 2016, in Kabul, by suspected militants. The Ministry of External Affairs, after knowing the situation, kept following up with the Afghan government for the safe release of Judith. After she was released, she met with Sushma Swaraj soon after her arrival.
Uzma Ahmed was forced to marry at gunpoint to a Pakistani national whom she had met in Malaysia. She was harassed by her husband and all her documents were taken away from her so that she doesn't run away. She finally got hold of the Indian Embassy in Islamabad, who then, contacted Swaraj. Once it was ascertained that Uzma was indeed an Indian and after the Islamabad High Court allowed her to return to India, she was escorted back via Wagah Border where she was received by Sushma Swaraj herself.
One of the biggest highlights of Sushma Swaraj's experiences would be that of Operation Raahat, where around 4741 Indian nationals were airlifted from Yemen to India during the Yemeni civil war that took place in 2015. The operation would not have been successful if it wasn't for Sushma Swaraj and Narendra Modi.
Sushma Swaraj and her team left no stones unturned to negotiate a deal for the safe release of nurses that were abducted in war-torn Iraq by ISIS. The nurses were stuck in a hospital in Tikrit, where they used to work as the war broke out. The militant bombed the hospital as well and took the nurses away on the bus. Finally, they were safely evacuated to India along with 183 other Indian nationals.
