We all are aware of the buzz around Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma's wedding. While all of us (rather most of us) were obsessing over their wedding and honeymoon photographs, Madhya Pradesh BJP MLA Pannalal Shakya has found a new angle to their wedding.
Pannalal Shakya has allegedly stated that cricketer Virat Kohli and actor Anushka Sharma are not patriotic. Now you must be wondering why are they not patriotic according to this MLA? Well, obviously, as indicated by him, because they married in Italy.
Yes! I know what you are thinking. And the whole nation is thinking that exact same thing.
MLA Pannalal Shakya questioned why Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma didn't marry in India. He then raised the question on Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli's love for the country...
"In this country, Ram, Krishna, Vikramaditya, and Yudhisthira got married. And you people might have also married in this country or would get married. But no one among us goes abroad like he has gone. He earned his money and fame in India and took all of it abroad." - Madhya Pradesh BJP MLA Pannalal Shakya
According to Indian Express, the MLA has now retracted his statement.
"I did not call him (Kohli) rashtradohi (traitor), I just said he is not rashtrabhakt (patriotic)," he said.
Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma will host a reception in New Delhi on December 21 followed by another bash in Mumbai on December 26. After the reception, the couple is probably expected to fly to South Africa where Kohli will be prepping for the upcoming series.
