December 14, 2017, brought hard luck to Bollywood and its fans coz Hindi Film Industry lost one of its finest actors today. Neeraj Vora took his last breath this day, and his demise has left the entire industry mourning.
Known for being a great comedian of Bollywood, Neeraj Vora was popular face among the audience, and his comic skills spread laughter and joy among the movie buffs. Neeraj was considered as an epitome of multi-talented personality, and his noticeable work on silver screen brought him laurels, but fate had some other plans for Neeraj. He went through a lot of pain in his life and eventually died an untimely death. Let's take a look at Neeraj's life behind the camera.
He was born in Bhuj, Gujarat but was brought up in Mumbai. His father Pandit Vinayak Rai Nanalal Vora was a prolific Tar-Shehnai player, and he always wanted Neeraj to make his career in classical music and didn't want him to pursue acting.
While Neeraj's father didn't even allow him to watch films his mother Premila Ben had a sharp inclination towards Hindi films and she also supported Neeraj to chase his dream of making a career in Bollywood.
Neeraj's love for acting and his sheer talent forced his father to approve his wish of getting into acting. Neeraj embarked on his journey and took his first step by getting indulged into the theatre.
Neeraj started as a writer in Gujarati theatre and soon got his first offer as an actor in Ketan Mehta's coming-of-age-drama Holi. This drama also featured Aamir Khan, Ashutosh Gowariker, Om Puri, Shreeram Lagoo, Deepti Naval and Naseeruddin Shah.
He then became a household name in no time. Very few people know that Neeraj co-wrote the dialogues of Aamir Khan's film Rangeela and when a supporting actor backed out, Neeraj played the role and once again nailed it onscreen.
He made his directorial debut with the film Khiladi 420 for which he was highly appreciated by the critics and audience too.
From its very first film 'Hera Pheri', Neeraj was the screenplay writer of the film and even won the award for Best Screenplay for it.
Neeraj was even supposed to direct the third installment of Hera Pheri franchise 'Hera Pheri 3', but his life took an ugly turn which changed things completely.
Vora suffered a massive heart attack followed by a brain stroke, and the intensity of both the attacks was so high that it left Vohra's body in a vegetative state.
Even in this tough time of life, there wasn't anyone by his side coz he lost his wife in the year 2006 leaving him all alone.
After Neeraj's initial treatments, he was shifted to Nadiadwala's residence, Barkat, in Mumbai. And as Vora was in the state of coma, a room in Nadiadwala's Villa was turned into an Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
And for past one year, Firoz Nadiadwala was taking care of Neeraj like a family.
And eventually, this journey came to an end when Neeraj breathed his last.
Actor Ashok Pandit revealed this to Indian Express that "Neeraj Vora died today at 3 am in Criti Care hospital in Juhu. He had been in coma and living at Firoz Nadiadwala's place. When his condition deteriorated in the night, he was taken to the hospital, where he breathed his last."
As Neeraj was very good friends with all the actors, directors, et al, in Bollywood, his demise has come as a shock to many. Bollywood mourns to Neeraj Vora's untimely death.
Even the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi Ji, expressed his grief on this unfortunate incident.
