How I Met Your Mother is an American sitcom which ran on CBS from to 2005 to 2014. The show has a lot to offer when it comes to love and friendship.
Many a theories of the show have been loved and followed. Here are a few more for you.
Our love guy he is! The 'She might be The One' guy! Well, hadn't he been looking for 'The Perfect Girl' all those years, he wouldn't have been the awesome story telling dad of the poor bored kids! Never quit looking for your love, because the day you meet the person, all the pain will be worthy.
The way Marshall turned down the Judgeship offer to go to Italy with Lily. Lily's biggest dream was to be an Art Consultant and work abroad and Marshall's was to be a Judge. Both of them were pretty excited about their new job offers but at the same time, were ready to turn down theirs for the other. It's quite rare that a man keeps his wife's choices ahead of his, but then Marshall's a gem of a person.
We all know Lily cannot keep secrets, no matter how hard she tries (except for her second pregnancy). But it's good she can't. It was this habit of hers which helped the gang solve many of their problems.
Remember the finale episode of the series, when Lily and Marshall were busy with their babies, Ted and Tracy had started a family and Barney had his daughter to take care of. All this time, Robin was alone, in a broken marriage and nobody to share to share her pain. She was so busy with her career, she was unable to take time out for Barney, which led to a divorce. She broke up with Kevin because she didn't want kids. It's not wrong to be career-oriented or have choices, but sometimes the cost of having priorities is damn too high.
It's tough but not impossible. There's a problem with the human brain; the moment something bad happens, we overthink it so much we make it unnecessarily worse. It's better to stay cool and well, awesome and solve the problem rather than brooding over it.
And that's what Tracy did when she went out on her first date with Ted. And that's what we all should. Remember relationships and friendship need effort. It's easy to lose a friend, its way more difficult to earn one. So whenever you want to stay connected with someone for a long term, do something.
You remember what happened at Ted and Stella's wedding when Ted invited both his and Stella's ex-es? At sensitive moments like wedding, when both the groom and bride are busy freaking out, presence of their ex-es makes things worse, as all the memories start coming back to the mind leading to having second thoughts about the marriage. So, even if you ended up on good terms, don't invite your ex to your wedding.
The way Victoria did. She had insecurities issues about her relationship with Ted, and she discussed the same with him. She didn't let time decide her fate, as she herself could. When you love somebody and have some sort of insecurity about your relationship, the best way to get rid of them is to talk about it and solve the issue. Only then you'll be doing justice to both of you.
She gave Ted a choice: Her or his lifetime dream of designing a sky-scraper. Of course she did this because it included her dream of saving a building which was to be demolished to build Ted's building. Ted chose his dream and she left him, only to regret. Don't deal your love, find an alternate option in such situations.
