Travel is the healthiest addiction.

If you are an avid traveller, you will agree to the fact that getting prepared is the most daunting task. Everything about travelling soothes the mind, body, and soul but to get your stuff ready and that too like a pro is something that requires a lot of talent. *WINK*

Brace yourself because today we are going to discuss some of the essential things that everyone must carry when they travel (especially by air).

Recently, Apurva Chamaria, Vice President and Head of Corporate Marketing for HCL Technologies, shared his travel-related tips and tricks. They were so apt that we decided why not to share it with a larger mass!

The best and also the most healthy option is to carry a mix of everything (raw almonds, currants, pumpkin seeds, apples, etc.)

Friendly reminder: Please note some countries like Australia don't allow carrying fruits and vegetables from overseas, so you will have to leave anything you don't manage to finish on the flight.

All thanks to Apurva Chamaria, we didn't know this!

Plane air dries the skin and makes one feel dehydrated all over. One small way to combat this is to always have a small tube or bottle of lotion with you.

Friendly reminder part 2: Have an unscented lotion when you're trying to be mindful of scent-sensitive neighbours.

Reading is the best way to pass your time. Also, it can provide you a lot of information. It's much better if you take some reading material from home, because otherwise at times due to flight delays and cancellations you could end up being stranded in an airport with no entertainment options or bookstore.

All liquids should be kept in a small transparent bag which is just big enough to hold a few-essentials. You can also have a normal bag and keep all your essentials in it.

One must always carry medicines for headaches and cold not only while travelling but in general as well. As you never know, when climate changes and you get ill.

I know, I know, you can't bring a full bottle, through security you can always bring an empty bottle and then fill it up somewhere in the airport.

Having your own water bottle ensures that:

a) You'll stave off the dehydrating effects of flying.

b) You won't have to accept the plastic refreshment cups which are not eco-friendly.

It is a great way to avoid a mewling baby right next to your seat. Put on the earphones/earplugs, and the world gets shut off for you.

These days people end up watching a lot of films or TV shows when they fly. Most airlines collect the earphones 30 mins before you land so having your own noise-cancellation earphones is a blessing.

That's all, people.
