Well, we go through all kinds of stereotype as we grow old. But in India, it's on a whole new level, and it doesn't matter if you're single or married, young or old, all of us can relate to the situations mentioned below.
As I yearn for my personal space, I realise that sometimes Indians forget the concept of leaving someone on their own. Especially, when we're in our 20s. Once we reach a specific age, we all start to avoid going to weddings or on a dinner with family and relatives because we are trying to escape the inevitable questions, "Beta, shaadi kab kar rahe ho?"
These are the questions that make us want to tear our hair out. The ones we are all tired of hearing. Sometimes we smile at them, sometimes saddened and sometimes just amazed at the ridiculousness of them.
Today, we bring forward some of such questions that have guys dragging their feet back home from such gatherings.
One of the most annoying things anyone can ask you is about your salary and earnings.
When people ask you when are you getting married you feel that sudden plunge in your heart. You realise that maybe it's time to stop getting drunk & hungover every weekend and be an adult you sadly are becoming.
When you meet those distant relatives you have only met once or twice before in your life and they ask you why didn't you accept their friend requests on Facebook.
When they tell you that you need to stop being a child now and maybe stop walking around in your boxers all the time.
They want to know why didn't you call them in ages. Well, because you keep asking these questions!
You used to be so chubby! Don't you get food in the office?
When they see you on your phone scrolling through memes or Instagram and they ask you why haven't you been active on the family WhatApp group which has a million messages anytime you open it.
That one guy who is always doing the right things and your parents & family never stop talking about him.
When they finally stop beating around the bush and tell you to get married!
And then they wonder if you're not interested in girls after all.
We will be back with more humorous things. Till then, let us know by writing in the comment box below if we have missed out on anything.
