Lizzie Mcguire, the show that helped us survive middle school aired from 2001 to 2004. Ever so adorably awkward taught us life lessons that we would never forget!
Along with besties Miranda and Gordo, Team Lizzie was against the world. The struggles of the real world as a teenager are aptly depicted in the show. Ever so jovial Miranda, Gordo who was the perfect guy to fall for (only if Lizzie knew *sigh*) and not to forget Lizzie's scheming brother Matt, you would just never rest!
Then there was Ethan Craft- her first biggest crush! Kate, who was always trouble. But none of her troubles was significant enough cuz she had parents who would always and hear me always had her back.
The show taught us to stay strong. At the end of the day, all our lives are not perfect but we keep struggling, and that is what matters.
So we do miss Lizzie and her subconscious (who we love a lot)! Life has changed and many years have passed. This is how the Lizzie stars look like now, which will help you catch up. We hope you will enjoy then and now of Disney's Lizzie Mcguire.
THEN: Lizzie was a middle school awkward girl, who was ever bubbly and chirpy. The show dealt with her struggles as a teenager, how everything she did would turn out to be a big mess- like it does in many of our lives. Her first crush, her rows with Kate, love, fashion mishaps and so much more! Lizzie was a pleasant person to be with!
NOW: Hilary Duff was a sensation ever since Lizzie Mcguire was on air in the year 2001. She appeared in many mainstream movies- Cheaper By Dozen, A Cinderella Story, Mean Girls and many more. She became the cover girl of many magazines. Actresses like Miley Cyrus and Salena Gomez, who rose to fame through Disney said that they looked up to Hilary for inspiration.
She is doing equally well in her musical career. Her first album by the name Metamorphosis was platinum. She married hockey player Mike Comrie, with whom she has a son called Luca. She also appeared in short term roles in Gossip Girl and Two and A Half Men. In the year, she wrote a book called Elixir which was a New York bestseller. In the year 2014, her relationship with Comrie ended. She is now a single mom. But not anymore. There are rumors that she is probably in a relationship with Aaron Carter! And this couple would sure be a sight to sore eyes!
THEN: Gordo was LIzzie's guy best friend who secretly had a major crush on her. He was supposedly a nerd very protective of Lizzie! His character was very lovable, and his obvious love that Lizzie would never understand, kept fans waiting for them to get along. In Lizzie Mcguire, the movie they finally share a kiss that was a treat every fan was rooting for!
NOW: Adam Lamber does not work for the entertainment industry anymore. He works at Irish Arts Center. He also went to college and got a major in geography from University of California, Berkley.
Lizzie's girl best-friend who was also her partner in every crime. She was the brightest of them, all. She took everything easy and gave Lizzie some of-the best pieces of advice she needed at-the-time.
NOW: Lalaine released her first-album called Inside Story where she also wrote her songs too! She never revisited her role as Miranda in Lizzie Mcquire the movie. For almost a year from 2010 to 2011, she was working as base guitarist in the band Vanity Theft.
THEN: Matt, Lizzie's younger brother who would always look for ways to scheme against her big sister. But it won't be wrong if I called him a protective brother too. He dearly loved her sister but never considered telling her. His schemes and acting in the show was A-class in the show.
NOW: Jake rose to immense fame as Matt and was a part of two major movies as a child actor. One being A.I Artificial Intelligence and other was a Television Movie called Hefner Unauthorized, where he played young Hefner.
Playing Jason Stickler he was also seen in the series Cory in the House(2007* 2008). Presently he is working for the YouTube series called Storytellers.
THEN: She was a little strict yet very sober mother who would always let Lizzie learn lessons of life all by herself. But she always ensured that she never got herself in trouble that Lizzie couldn't handle by herself.
NOW: Well, Hallie was well known before Lizzie for her role as Penn Waters in Brothers. In the year 2013, she appeared in the movie called The Mooring. She co-wrote the film with her daughter and husband. Now she spends her time running her actor conservatory.
THEN: A father figure who was so real. Lizzie's dad was a perfect fit in the best-Dad-of-the-World category. He would always be Lizzie's ultimate savior.
NOW: Rober Carradine was well known for his role Lewis Skolnick, in the Revenge of the Nerds, before he did Lizzie. He is now a producer and game show host of CBS's King of The Nerds along with his Nerds co-star Curtis Armstrong
THEN: Lizzie's ride in the Hillridge Junior High wouldn't have been same without Kate Sanders! The head cheerleader, perfect cover-girl and schemer in every possible way. Kate was Lizzie's nightmare at times.
NOW: Not much is known about Ashlie now. Her website has not been updated since the year 2006. But through a little digging we got a hold of this photo of her. It has been more than 13 years, it's hard to tell, if that is the same, Kate.
THEN: Lizzie's forever crush. Ever so gorgeous and a little loose in the head, he was one of those cute guys on TV, we all had a crush on. As much as we wanted Lizzie and Gordo to get along, we wanted good for Ethan too.
NOW: Clayton Sanders is still one hot guy you can obsess over! He is totally opposite of what his character was like. He is an athlete who represents the nation in U.S Water Polo Team. He went to Pepperdine University, where he played and discovered his real potential. He also owns a blog called Built on Rock; he is a fantastic writer too, Clayton sure is the man of your dreams!
Miranda, Lizzie and Matt reunited at a bowling alley. This picture is from Tom's Instagram and is the most loved picture of the three of them on the internet. We couldn't help but wonder about Gordo. But nonetheless, this makes us feel happy too!
This adorable little cartoon was one of the most delightful characters that you will never forget.
It has been years, we wish Lizzie great beginnings and merry endings.
