Famous love triangle saga 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' which released on 16th October 1998 made an attempt to create an impact on its audience via a lot of emotions. And, it succeeded as well. The film bridged the gap between friendship and love in the best possible manner. If you were in college during that time and you watched the film, you will agree with me when I say that most people had accepted Rahul, Anjali, and Tina as a part of their life. Some even tried to imitate them.
However, even if you are a big movie buff, we bet you might not be aware of these facts associated with the film. From scripting, casting to behind the scenes every nitty-gritty has been unveiled.
Take a look yourself.
According to an article, there were not one or two but four actresses who declined the role of Tina because of getting less screen space as the role was very small. The film became a cult classic but it was not before KJO, and Twinkle Khanna admitted at Koffee with Karan that I came to know about this.
The saree in the song 'Ladki badi anjaani hai' was started off as a joke because everyone initially thought it was stupid. Eventually, the scene was added and it went helluva viral.
According to sources, Kajol's tomboyish role as Anjali was initially offered to Juhi Chawla.
Initially, the role was offered to Aamir Khan. Kajol and Salman were also not in the talking terms while shooting the song 'saajan ji ghar aaye'.
When all the actresses had declined to portray Tina on screen, Aditya Chopra suggested Rani's name who he had seen in 'Raja ki aayegi Baraat'.
Time Magazine recognised 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' as one of the essential Bollywood films that must be available on Netflix.
The film had two different plots, but eventually, everything was clubbed into one to form a single story. We wonder what would have been the twist in those plots.
The entire film was inspired from Archie Comics. SRK was Archie, Kajol was Betty, and Rani was Veronica from the popular Riverdale High School.
The famous dialogue in the film 'tussi jaa re ho, tussi na jao' was dubbed. Yes, it was not the original voice of the kid. It was dubbed by another child artist Kaivalya Chheda.
There have been various celebrities like Manish Malhotra, Farah Khan, Geeta Kapoor, director Nikhil Advani, and even Johar's mom, Hiroo Johar, who were seen in different shots of the film.
I hope you liked the throwback post on this film's facts.
