The on-screen Dhoni, i.e. Sushant Singh Rajput has principally agreed to play the role. Yes, you heard that right.
However, it is only natural to think how Sushant will pull off Khali, as the monster stands about 7'1" tall and weighs over 150 kgs. It is highly improbable any Indian actor can portray Khali without the heavy use of technology.
What worked in Sushant's favour during Dhoni was that he looked, walked and talked like MSD. Here, Sushant has no similarities with Khali when it comes to his body prototype and his height.

"No hero in Bollywood will look convincing as The Great Khali, unless there's CGI," DNA quoted a trade analyst as saying.
Remember Anil Kapoor from 'Badhayi ho Badhayi'? For the meantime, we can wait for an official confirmation from the actor. Just like other biopics, the movie on Khali's life will narrate his journey from being a policeman to an internationally acclaimed wrestler.
