Sunny Leone who has always been in headlines for being 'un-sanskari', is now stuck in another controversy because of her new Navratri special Manforce condom collection.
The billboards in Surat, Gujarat with Sunny dressed in a traditional attire and the message, "Aa Navratri a ramo, parantu prem thi," which means "Play but with love, this Navratri," has hurt many religious sentiments and holiness of the Navratri festivities.
There are orders to remove the hoardings. Not just this, protesting groups came out on the roads and protested at various areas in Surat. But the whole incident was taken to another level by Twitterati, of course. Let's see what happened when Surat came out to oppose for the same.
"The message in Gujarati on the hoarding reads 'Aa Navratri a ramo, parantu premthi' - Play but with love, this Navratri. The insinuation on the hoardings from a condom brand insults the religious sentiments of Hindus," said Narendra Chaudhary, businessman and president of Hindu Yuva Vahini to The Times Of India. The group staged a protest at Udhna in the city.
"This cannot be tolerated and our protests will get stronger if these hoardings are not removed immediately. Protests are necessary to deter others from trying something similar again in future," said Chaudhary.
According to India Today, the letter is signed by National Secretary General of CAIT Praveen Khandelwal, which accuses Sunny Leone of being irresponsible and of going to "any level irrespective of the pious and religious occasion of Navratri" to earn money.
