And what he did for the youngsters of Punjab will give you urge to shed tears. His journey starts from the 90s, when he escaped his village Bajwa Kalan to become a superstar, but leaving all his fame and career, he returned home.
But what made him leave his career will keep you numb for hours, read below to know.
Inder Bajwa belongs to a small village in Jalandhar district which is barely known to any of us, but now, this man has reached all the heights of success. He was a face to one of the most loved brands, 'Raymond: The Complete Man' for which proud is an understatement. Starting from the 90s, this man ruled the fashion industry for almost a decade.
He was reaching skies, then what made him take his steps back? The turning point was when his cousin brother, the son of his maternal aunt, ended his life due to drug abuse. The kid was 17-year-old, and this was a huge shock to Inder and his family. After his cousin's disastrous death due to drugs, he determined himself to save as many lives as he can.
Almost every family loses at least one male member under drug abuse in Punjab, and the place has already turned a depressing news issue since a long time. Inder stated that, "The politicians will talk about it and get votes, films will show it and make money, but no one is doing anything about it." So, he started his revolt against helplessness.
Bajwa also said that, "Couldn't feel Bombay anymore. I couldn't watch from far, doing nothing." So, he went back to his birthplace to make it drug-free. He initiated his idea by starting a recreation center for the village youth, which not only is a distraction to drugs but will also spread a positive and healthy vibration.
Inder also mentions that "In the evenings, when there is no work, that is when people do drugs." So, he rebuilt the Kabaddi ground of his village, so that youth participates in the traditional game, and focuses on health. For this, he became a trainer, and the people of Bajwa is already excited.
Inder didn't want to confine the mission to himself, so for this, Inder asked his friends from Mumbai and Delhi who could support him in building a well-equipped gym in the neighborhood.
As he spent his time in Mumbai and Delhi, he wasn't much into Punjabi culture thereafter. He adds, "I didn't listen to Punjabi music, I didn't speak Punjabi, I didn't meet Punjabis." This also means he wasn't into drugs because of it.
Everyone was curious to know about the future planning of the supermodel, as he had a breakup with his girlfriend and has also taken his steps back from modeling career. For this, the man replied calmly, "I can only do one thing at one time and give it my best."
If this man is continuing his war against drugs, then a place like Bajwa Kalan will get its glory back.
