There's a reason why Lord Shiva is known as 'Mahadeva.'
This 'Maha Yogi' who performed meditation to maintain the equilibrium of the world is known for keeping a calm state of mind and we also know Lord Shiva for being too generous to all his devotees.
He is a pool of knowledge who can turn into a destroyer and Bholenath both when the time and situation arises. We often see him as a figure who has multiple shades but his intellect is unquestionable. There have been various lessons and learnings that he has imparted to all his devotees, followers and even his own wife - Goddess Parvati.
We have listed some important life lessons that Mahadeva imparted to his wife which will be valuable for everyone. But, before we begin let's do some background check and start with the basics.
Goddess Parvati is known as the goddess of fertility. She is believed to be the incarnation of Sati, Mahadev's first wife.
Lord Shiva is known to be the ultimate man and Goddess Parvati the ultimate woman. Together, they are known as Ardhanarishvara which is a joint composition of half male and half female features. Ardhanarishvara represents the synthesis of masculine and feminine energies of the universe.
According to puranas, Parvati is the reincarnation of Shiva's first wife Sati. After Sati's death, the devas worshipped Mahadevi and asked her to be Shiva's consort. And this is how Parvati was born with the sole motive to marry Lord Shiva.
Shiva taught various lessons to Goddess Parvati and one of them was that the biggest virtue a man can have is to be honest and the biggest sin that he can commit is dishonesty.
We all must be our own critic and eye witness of our mistakes. One must never indulge in heinous acts just because no one is watching us or no one knows about it.
One must never involve himself or indulge in any sort of wrong doings, wrong thoughts or speak wrong words.
Lord Shiva also stated that one must never get too attached towards someone or something because that makes a person weak.
Adding to the fourth saying, he said that temptations are the reason of all our sufferings and one must never get tempted by materialistic things.
They are worshipped worldwide and are also a perfect example of how a couple should lead a life.
