Pursuing something nowadays is very easy. That is because there is a wide variety of professions you can take up. And it is easy because the facilities are available now. But the mentality of Indian parents is taking some time to change. Most of them still think that if their child isn't a doctor or an engineer, they won't get anywhere. So, it is the children who have to take a stand and make them believe that it is possible now. If doing something makes you happy and you can earn a living out of it, then what else matters? It is not that their thinking hasn't changed. They are still learning and they will eventually understand if you make it large. You have to prove yourself. So, go ahead and ask them for some time till you conquer your dreams.
But it is so much more than that. Being an artist requires a different level of depth and perception. A painter is skilled too, but the difference is that he does not have an outlook towards what he is painting. He just has to paint it without thinking so much.
We need to change their way of thinking by working more hard and taking it to the next level. Hairdressing is definitely different from being a barber. The barber goes with the traditional style, but the hairdresser has to style it according to the look of the person and there are varied techniques in that too.
Again, the level of perception matters here. Being fashionable in the industry is all it takes to become well-known and you can reach out to as many people as you want to.
Event management is more than setting up tents. It is a difficult task to manage all the things and communicate with people effectively. You are solely responsible to make the arrangements and that decides how the event will proceed. So the success or the failure of the event is completely in your hands.
Entrepreneurship is a process of starting up a business and acquiring human resource to lead the team ahead based on the plan and make it large. Here also, the success and failure depends on the person himself.
It is now our responsibility to change their outlook towards the various stereotypes relating to the professions. Show them that it matters to you and make them see it. Rather, make them feel the happiness it gives you.
