As India celebrated its 71st Independence Day on August 15, 2017, natural calamities like floods continued to hit north-eastern states that affected over 15 lakh people in 21 districts of Assam. Many people lost their home, livelihood and valuables. 

Despite the deluge, people gathered to hoist the National Flag.Their pictures are trending on internet as they show the dedication and patriotism these women, men and children displayed. 

Teachers and students assembled in knee-deep water in a school in Dhubri district of Assam and showed the world what true meaning of patriotism is.
