Shabana Azmi is one of the best actresses of Bollywood. The actress who enacted the evergreen song, 'Tum Jo Itna Muskura Rahe ho' and performed in movies like 'Masoom' was nominated to Rajya Sabha in 1997. A known social activist, she got offers from many political parties but she refused. Besides acting, she continues to work as a social activist.

She joined Samajwadi Party, which nominated her as Rajya Sabha member in 2004. The party re-nominated her to Rajya Sabha in 2012. She was reluctant to be re-nominated in 2012 when former SP leader Amar Singh was suspended by SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav.  

Rajesh Khanna

 He is regarded as the first superstar of Bollywood industry. He was Congress party MP from 1992 to 1996. He did not receive any offers to act in films during this tenure. After leaving Parliament, he continued to work for Congress party. He campaigned for Punjab assembly elections before his death in 2012.

I guess, her lucky number was 3. She won 3 Filmfare awards. She was thrice elected as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. She started her political career under the founder of AIADMK M G Ramachandran. She started her career at the age of 13 in 1961 and continued to work in films as the lead actress till 1980, according to rediff.com.
