Aliens. What does that bring to your mind? ET? Goku? Superman? Or does it bring to your mind the strangest and wildest forms of life that may be present in our universe? Whatever it is, these strange occurrences of UFO sightings will definitely make you start looking out for aliens!
In 1950, on the night of August 15, Nick Marina became the first person to ever record a UFO sighting on tape. The tape showed two bright dots streaking through the sky. He was soon interrogated by the US Air Force, and the tape was examined, after which the Air Force concluded it to be their jets. What's mysterious is that after the tape was returned by the Air Force, many parts of the tape that showed the UFOs hovering were found missing.
In Oregon, in 1950, a farmer named Mr. Trent reportedly saw a UFO behind his farm. He was quick enough to get himself a camera and take a photo of the same. Many studies have actually claimed this picture to be genuine.
If a guy claims to have seen a saucer-like object blast through the sky, then your skeptical side might say that he simply failed to recognize a regular aircraft. But what would your sceptical side have to say if the claimant was more than just one, and were all employees of an airlines corporation? In Chicago, in 2006, several people at the Chicago O'Hare airport claimed to have seen a flying saucer, one that looked like everything but an aircraft. It was also noted that no flying object had been registered on the radar at the time of its sighting. And what's more fascinating is that, everyone gave the same description of what they saw. The government had tried to cover up the incident with hoax stories and reasoning, they could account for everything, but one simple and important fact - the hole in the cloud that flying saucer had left behind when it zoomed through the cloud!
We all have heard stories of how the US has been trying to cover up strange UFO related activities and sightings. Now, to add a pinch of irony to all that, it is claimed that a UFO had once landed at Edwards Air Force Base. And this ain't just any myth! It was even caught on camera!
On April 24, 1964, an officer in pursuit of a criminal got distracted by what he called the up-rise of a large blue flame. When he rushed in the direction, he got a clear view of the object - an oval machine, from which two 'humanoids' emerged, and as soon as they did, they apparently spotted the officer and jumped back in. In a matter of seconds, the object was back in the air and gone. Evidence? Well, angular indentations on the ground from the object's legs, burned foliage from the take-off, and lots of people claiming to see the same thing!
On April 6, 1966, in Melbourne, Australia, a silver disk was spotted whizzing around the area and then landing on a paddock near a high school. Now if you're thinking that the witnesses may have been tricked into thinking so, then you will really have to make me believe that it is possible to trick 200 people at the same time. And add broad daylight to it too!
Although, the official statement said that the police officers were chasing a communications satellite (thus making them look like complete idiots and hence infuriating them), the truth did find its way out when a few of the infuriated police officers decided to let out that it was an unidentified flying object that they were chasing, and nothing what the official statement said.
This sighting is called the most carefully documented sighting of all time! After a farmer in France saw a saucer land on his farm, a series of tests were run on the place of landing. The French government's study found evidence of compacting and heating of the soil near the landing site, depleted chlorophyll in plants around the site, and "black material" that was not oil or residue from combustion, but metallic in nature. A technical report stated, "It was not the aim of the author to identify the exact nature of the phenomenon observed on January 8, 1981 at Trans-en-Provence. But it can reasonably be concluded that something unusual did occur that might be consistent, for instance, with an electromagnetic source of stress."
The Warren Air Base has been facing a lot of UFO problems! According to the civilians, whenever red and green flashing lights fly over the area, the Warren Air Base missiles are kept at high-alert! Ever since 1965, there have been a number of sightings of UFOs over the area, most of which leave almost no room for any other interpretation!
On a night of December 1980, an incident occurred that left three people - Betty Cash, Vickie Landrum and Landrum's grandson Colby astonished to the core. It so happened that they were driving under the night sky when they came about a diamond-shaped craft, that took their attention. The women came out of her vehicle to see exactly what was before them, and as they claim, they had to use their coats to reopen the car's doors because the metal that formed the car had heated up! All three suffered bizarre symptoms reminiscent of radiation poisoning or chemical contamination for some time afterward-weakness, nausea, and the feeling of having been sunburned. Betty Cash's symptoms were bad enough for her to be hospitalized, and as such the Cash-Landrum encounter is one of very few UFO incidents to result in litigation.
