Our country is in the middle of a start-up boom and a major transition. There are so many young and charged up people one can find all over the country, who are aspiring entrepreneurs. And the government is not far behind in supporting these ambitious bunch of enthusiasts.
India is now the third-largest tech start-up hotspot in the world, according to a report by NASSCOM and Zinnov. The ever growing numbers of entrepreneurs, incubators, international and local VCs, and multinational corporations are speeding up this development by many folds. As a matter of fact, the number of startups in India is expected to nearly quadruple from 3,100 in 2014 to over 11,500 by 2020. - Forbes
Even the Indian government now aims at turning the country into "a nation of job creators instead of a nation of job seekers" and ergo, has been playing its part with full dedication. But what exactly does it take to become a successful entrepreneur in a world full of cut-throat competition? That's one question every young or aspiring entrepreneur has in the back of his mind all the time, isn't it?
There are now start-up accelerators in the country that envision helping and guiding ambitious youngsters and one such highly acclaimed student startup accelerator is iB Hubs Startup School.
Today, I'd like to talk about 15 tried and tested success mantras for young entrepreneurs!
There is no alternative for learning, and you cannot stop the process. If you're adamant towards learning and think of yourself as a know-it-all, you can't go much ahead. Micheal Angelo quotes at the age of 81,"I'm still learning", and if you don't know who he is, that's one reason I've given you to keep learning more.
Until and unless you do not get out of your shell and start experimenting with things, you won't be able to discover what you were looking for in the first place. A successful start-up takes n numbers of permutation and combinations to attain that so-called "overnight success". Don't be afraid of failing; it's a part if the journey!
You have and need to learn to get things done on time. Your time is limited, and you can't keep wasting it on incompetency. There are going to be times when you'll have to negotiate for the implausible, listen to people speaking crap, spend sleepless nights and sacrifice your personal life, but my friend, that's the only way you can get things done.
Do not get entirely dependent on just a few team members for anything and everything. Every member of your team has ought to have some unique qualities that no one else possesses, that's why they are in your team in the first place, isn't it? Learn to exploit those qualities. Learn to wring the collective leverage of those qualities.
Your product can be exceptionally remarkable, but if the consumer or the target audience does not like it, it's futile. Trust me, mate, that's how it works! You need to have an indistinguishable focus on both, the product and the needs of your customer. Ultimately, it's your customer for whom you're doing what you're doing.
Anywhere and everywhere you go, Network! You never know when you might get lucky. It's always good to talk about your company to the new people you meet, that's how connections are made, that's how you reach newer destinations and find what you've been looking for.
Trying to run behind everything at a time will get you nothing. Focus on one thing at a time. You cannot have it all at once and trying to seek all of it at one instant will further push you backwards and probably back to square one. Quality over quantity, always! Put your heart and soul in anything that you're doing.

After a point, you'll realise that people working with you are your real assets. When things go downhill, which they will at some point and when you're on cloud nine, it's the relationships you build that matter. After all, success is momentary; people are constant.
Go to any and every expert talk. Talk to people who possess experience. Nothing goes to waste, even if you think something might not benefit you at the moment, trust me, it will at some point or another in your life. What comes from experience, comes from nothing else, until and unless you do not jump into the pool, you cannot learn how to swim. Get my point here?
Initially, when you start, you will have dedicate your whole life to this 'idea' of yours. Treat it like your baby. There is going to be no work-life balance and you will have to accept and deal with it. Your startup will need your unfeigned dedication and selflessness, if at all you see it reaching new heights and bringing in accolades for you.
There are going to be days when your world will come crashing down, but remember, nothing lasts forever! The good, bad and worse, it's all temporary. It's the whole journey that makes the end results and success so fruitful and gives you the feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction.
It is not necessary to find maestros or prodigies to work for you. You need people who are flexible, good at what they do but can also manage other things at the hour of need. But keep in mind not to hire a know-it-all, nobody likes a person who'd go around bragging his skills! The right people can instantly provide a flight to your company!
The Lean Startup method teaches you how to drive a startup, how to steer, when to turn, and when to grow a business with maximum acceleration. You will have to master this in an unbiased manner and with honest efforts.
Don't ever hesitate in talking about your start-up or the idea behind it. If you aren't confident while talking about it, why will others believe in it? Make the aim of your life to talk about your idea. Live, eat, breathe, sleep your idea.
To be successful and in order to take your start-up to newer heights, you will have to keep your ego aside. You will have to listen to a lot of things you don't want to from a lot of people you don't like. Difference of opinions amongst you and your team mates might be one of the toughest problems you'll encounter, you will get frustrated, hurt, annoyed and at times you will even break down, but don't worry, we all go through it. Just remember, your company is above you and everything else.
We hope you're ready to rock and roll that 'idea' of yours now!;)
