Exotic wild animals have been always used in the circus to attract the attention of people. A malnourished looking wild cat was chained and harnessed all his life at the back area of a wagon that was owned by a traveling circus team at Peru. During the times when the wild cat was not performing, he was harnessed to the truck and made to sleep on a metal bed. He was one of the few lucky animals to be rescued by the Animal Defenders International group. They work to save mistreated animals throughout the world.
The use of circus animals has been banned in Peru since 2011. The government and organizations like Animal Defenders International have been trying their best to stop the animal use in the circus.
