Liverpool had an eventful week as they were forced to end their pursuits of the Dutch center half sensation Virgil Van Dijk following a complaint from the club. Liverpool are embarking on their great European adventure this season and want defensive recruitments. Van Dijk would've been the perfect defensive player to lead them out but sadly they had to drop their pursuits, that too very publically in an embarrassing manner via a statement on the official website.
Liverpool has an amazing list of transfer targets and some of the names include Douglas Costa, Isco, Asensio, Lacazette etc. Surprisingly, there was only one player from Southampton, which was Virgil Van Dijk.
Over the years, Liverpool have recruited quite some talent from Southampton and the trend doesn't seem to stop as now after all the drama surrounding Van Dijk, Liverpool are in for yet another Southampton player.

Liverpool and Southampton have enjoyed a tremendous relationship over the years, to say the least. It seems that Southampton is happy hunting ground for their transfer targets. The Southampton contingent makes it easier for a player to settle in and both of the clubs didn't see a long drawn transfer saga which shows contentment towards each other. Some of the players are:
Ruthless pace and acceleration, by far he is Liverpool's best player and a bright spark. Mane has won hearts of Liverpool fans from the get go.
Highly intelligent and versatile playmaker, can play in a variety of positions and affect the game from there. He still needs to improve on his game but we are sure he'll improve under Klopp.
Once destined to be the Liverpool's center half kingpin, fallen short of promise that was expected of him in a spectacular manner although no one will forget his goal vs Borussia Dortmund.
Perhaps the longest drawn saga between the two clubs. Van Dijk seemed on his way to Merseyside until Southampton put a spanner in the form of a complaint, asking FA to investigate Liverpool's approach.
Following the complaint, Liverpool released a statement stating they have ended their interest in the player. Now they are targeting another Southampton player.
The Southampton playmaker is subject to transfer speculations from Liverpool which certainly seems a bold move just days after Liverpool issued a written apology regarding Van Dijk transfer.
Tadic is someone who has a good range of passing and playmaking abilities plus he can defend too. It doesn't seem he's someone who can dominate games at his will in Europe but under Klopp, there's always a surprise.
According to sources, The Saints are expecting somewhere around £13 million for Tadic but it can go lower considering he wants to leave The Saints.
