I'm sure we all remember Kirti Kulhari from the much appreciated movie 'PINK', released in 2016. She played the role of a strong, independent, young girl named Falak Ali and stunned us with her acting skills.
Kirti began her acting career in 2009 by acting in 'Khichdi'. Her role in Shaitaan (2011) and then in Jal (2013) are considered to be one of her finest works so far.
A section of critics said she proved her worth as an actress by choosing the right films and played roles that did justice to the character.
Madhur Bhandarkar, the National Award-winning filmmaker who has given movies like Page 3, Fashion, and Heroine is back with yet another project of his named 'Indu Sarkar'. And guess what? Kirti Kulhari has been chosen its lead actress.
The first look of the movie was released on June 6 and we're already loving it!
Madhur Bhandarkar's film will be based on politics. The film is set in a period from 1972 to 1977, a 21-month long period when then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had declared a state of emergency in the country.
Her strong performance in PINK was seen as her career's best but it seems that there's a lot more to come.
Kirti Kulhari, who set her mark in the Bollywood with her latest movies, had also done a splendid role in Jal, released in 2013, based on the water scarcity in the villages. And we're so waiting to see her in Indu Sarkar. By the look of the poster, we can figure out it will be a serious role of Indira Gandhi.
Tota Roy Chowdhury will perform a role in the movie. So will the veteran Bollywood actor Anupam Kher.
Tota Roy Chowdhury is an Indian actor and martial artist, who has acted in Bengali movies. His Hindi movies, Ahalya and Kahaani 2, are some of his best works.
Here is the much talked about poster of Indu Sarkar. The poster shows, Kirti Kulhari, Anupam Kher and Tota Roy Chowdhury. The poster also showcases a glimpse of the dark days of the nation during the Emergency.
Neil Nitin Mukesh!
Yep, I know it's hard to make it out but look closely. Though Neil is no where seen in the poster but he'd be playing an important role in the movie, that of Sanjay Gandhi.
With the movie set to release on the 28th of July, 2017, we're highly undeniably excited! But did you notice the tag line written on the movie's poster?
It says, "Against the system..For the nation!"
This intrigues me even more and it's getting harder to wait anymore.
Catch Indu Sarkar in the theaters near you on July 28, 2017.
